Members of the AISB community gathered together on Wednesday, the 18th of October, for the student council investiture ceremony. This is an official assembly to acknowledge the elected council members, recite the school pledge and formally hand out our student council badges. The school recently celebrated a delightful event, during which our elected student representatives were officially inducted. The representatives will play a crucial role in voicing the concerns and ideas of the student body, contributing to the growth and improvement of our school community. The student council at our school is a group of enthusiastic individuals who are eager to make a positive impact on our school community. These responsible leaders have already demonstrated their ability to take charge and lead with confidence. They have embraced their roles with enthusiasm and have shown great initiative in addressing the needs and concerns of their fellow students. With their dedication and proactive approach, the student council is poised to make a significant difference in enhancing our school environment and fostering a sense of unity among students. We were delighted to welcome our guest of honour, Ms. Amber Parr, the Agricultural Counselor from the Australian Embassy in Thailand. She captivated the audience with inspiring stories from her own journey as a young leader, offering valuable insights on how our students at AISB can embark on their own leadership paths. Amber also generously shared the challenges she faced as a young leader and talked about how she overcame these. This inspired our future leaders to have no fear, be brave and believe in themselves. Written by Ms. Melissa, U9 & U11 Football Squad Manager On Saturday 28 October, AISB U9 and U11 football squads participated in their first at home tournament, against the visiting teams from BASIS and Anglo 64. With smiles on their faces, both teams showcased their passion and skill in the friendly yet competitive matches. Parents cheered from the sidelines, as we all supported these budding athletes dribbling, passing and shooting their way across the turf. It was a heartwarming display of teamwork, sportsmanship and the joy of playing the beautiful game. Players went home, tired and content at having played their hearts out. We look forward to the rest of their upcoming games this season!

This week Year 2 students continued their exploration of forces and movement. They were tasked with building model cars that were powered by the invisible force of the wind. They experimented with creating different sail designs to see which allowed their car to travel faster and further and then had a great time testing their creations by racing around the latest addition to the Formula 1 calendar, AISB Speedway. Congratulations to our winning race engineers and everyone involved.

Written by Mr. Andre, Head of Sports On Saturday, 23rd September, the AISB U11 Football Squad demonstrated their sportsmanship and talent as they participated in an exciting football tournament hosted at the International School Bangkok (ISB). We competed in the B Group against ISB, Shrewsbury and RIS. The AISB U11 squad won all 3 of their games and exhibited commendable teamwork and determination throughout the tournament. The players displayed great enthusiasm and dedication, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship. Their discipline and respect towards both opponents and officials were evident, making our coaches, managers & supporting parents proud. The tournament not only provided a chance for the players to engage in healthy competition but also enabled them to enhance their football skills and understanding of the game. The squad embraced the experience and learning opportunities offered during each match, reflecting their commitment to growth and improvement. Overall, the AISB U11 Football Squad showcased their athletic talent and represented the school with pride, leaving a positive mark on the tournament and reinforcing the school's commitment to fostering a culture of sportsmanship and excellence.

Written by Andre Du Toit Traditionally, AISB sports day involved a variety of athletic-based events and competitions for secondary students. This year, our AISB Secondary School participated in the very first Secondary Sports Day, involving secondary students from years 7-12. The day included human-Hoop (basketball type game), volleyball, table tennis and badminton. Due to covid restrictions, competitions were limited to year levels competing only against other teams in their year group. It was an enjoyable day with Correa coming out victorious after the final round. All house points accumulated on the day will be added to the Primary School's house points they earn by competing in various athletic activities later this month in the primary school sports week.

Written by Mr Andre Du Toit, Assistant Head of Secondary & Head of Sport, PE & Aquatics On a bustling Friday morning, the Secondary school students of AISB gathered at the Sports Center for the highly anticipated Interhouse Mini Olympics. The students, divided into houses, eagerly awaited the start of the day’s events - Pickleball, Basketball, and Football. Despite a delay caused by pollution, the competitive spirit was palpable as teams took to the field, led by their enthusiastic house captains. The first round of competition kicked off and the Highfield and Sports center were filled with the sounds of cheering and determined athletes striving for victory. After a full day of intense competition, the final standings were announced, with Correa emerging as the champions, followed by Wollemi, Telopea, Eucalyptus, Acacia, and Grevillea. The event was made possible by the dedication and hard work of the school staff, who ensured a successful and memorable day for all. The male and female players of the day were David and Bhunnada for the Lower Secondary, and Daniel and Sana for the Upper Secondary. These exceptional athletes demonstrated great ability on the field and inspired their fellow competitors to give their best effort. The Interhouse Mini Olympics was a resounding success and a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of competitiveness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among its students. Written by Mr Andre Du Toit, Head of Sport, PE & Aquatics We have successfully completed our sports week for Primary and Soi 20 classes. The sports week kicked off with a fun-filled day of games and activities set up by the sports staff for our Foundation and Kindergarten students. The activities challenged the student's agility, speed, balance and hand-eye coordination abilities. Our year 1 & 2 sports days followed over the next two school days where for the first time since Covid-19 hit, they were able to represent their houses by participating in houses and wearing their house colours. Students took part in 6 different activities on a rotational basis where they could score points for their houses. Activities included an obstacle course, water fill, egg & spoon, target shoot, bean bag toss & standing jump. For the remainder of the week, we hosted the Year 3 - 6 levels which followed a different format to that of our younger year levels. Our Year 3 - 6 students competed in target-based activities where they could score points for their houses and also competed in both running and swimming races. The students showed great athleticism and sportsmanship throughout the week and a big congratulations to all our participants. The final house scores will be tallied and the winning house will be revealed towards the end of the year once the Secondary School has had its sports day. A big thank you to all the sports staff, auxiliary staff and teachers for their help on the day.

Written by Mr Andre Du Toit, Head of Sports On Saturday 25 March, our under-11 and Secondary school football squads traveled to Norwich to compete against Norwich International School. Both matches were highly anticipated, and both teams were eager to showcase their skills on the field. The under-11 squad kicked off the day's proceedings, and it was clear from the outset that they were determined to secure a victory. They played with great intensity and focus, and their teamwork was impressive. Despite a spirited performance from Norwich International School, AISB emerged victorious. Following the under-11 match, the Secondary school squad took to the field, hoping to build on the momentum of their younger peers. This match was a closely contested affair, with both teams displaying excellent technical ability and tactical awareness. However, AISB proved to be the stronger side, with a well-executed game plan. Overall, it was a fantastic day of football for the AISB teams, who put in exceptional performances to secure two victories. The players demonstrated great skill, sportsmanship, and determination, and their hard work paid off with a well-deserved result. Congratulations to the under-11 and secondary school football squads of AISB on a job well done!

On May 11-12, 2023 the Innovation Center Team had our annual AISB Innovation Center Exhibition 2023. Students and parents were invited to tour this filled yet interactive exhibition which consisted of sample projects from Design Technology, Digital Technology, Media Arts, and Arts and Design, created by students ranging from year levels Year 1-Year 8. The tour was arranged into zones that consisted of Urban Life, Me and Myself, Nature, Space, and AISB Animation Center. While viewing the displays pupils were invited to play our educational QR Code Scavenger Hunt to answer and have fun interacting with the exhibits, while also earning points for their house teams. We want to say a big thank you to our Innovation Center team for their amazing artistic and organizational skills. They played a crucial role in making this event successful. We truly appreciate their hard work in nurturing our students' creativity, and they deserve high praise. 👏 To all the families who visited and supported our Innovation Center Exhibit, we sincerely appreciate your time and presence. Our AISB Boys U11s team has emerged victorious in the BASIS Cup after an intense and nail-biting tournament! 🎉👏 Despite being a skeletal squad of only 7 players—Raden, Ren, Hibito, Nino, AJ, Shota, and Jerry—the boys exhibited unwavering determination and attacked every game with a relentless spirit. They refused to back down and shut up shop, and their efforts truly paid off! Group AISB vs. Wellington: 2-1 AISB vs. Harrow: 7-0 AISB vs. Basis: 2-0 Semi Final AISB vs. SISB: 3-0 Final AISB vs. Wellington: 4-1 What an incredible journey it has been, and the boys truly deserve every bit of this victory.
