Dear Parents and Friends,

The 2025-26 academic year is drawing to a close, and I wanted to take this opportunity to share some reflections with you. Over the past week, through various assemblies and gatherings, we have celebrated the incredible achievements of our students. We honoured both their academic successes and their commitment to our school values of Wellbeing, Respect, Integrity, Community, Personal Best, and Global Outlook. We also celebrated our Year 6 students’ completion of Primary School and their readiness for High School.

Perhaps the most significant event of this final week is the Graduation of our Year 12 students. This year, AISB graduates seven students, and we take this opportunity to congratulate each of them on this major milestone—the completion of their formal school education. Their final Cambridge exam

results are still a couple of months away, but supported by their teachers and families, each student has already mapped a pathway forward to further education. Congratulations to our graduates! May the experiences you shared within the AISB community—not just academically, but through lifelong

friendships and the values instilled during your time here—provide you with a solid foundation for your journey ahead.

I direct the following quote, often misattributed to Michelangelo, particularly to our graduates, though it applies equally to all of our students:

“The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and

falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.”

Dream big and aim high! Stumbling blocks are as much a part of life as success, and they are just as important, provided that we reflect upon them and use those experiences to inform our futures. Aiming high and reaching for your dreams is the true key to success. You may just be surprised by what you can achieve, and I am confident that great things lie ahead for each of you.

Of course, we have also marvelled at the early years and primary school concerts that took place over the past few weeks. The talent in our school is truly amazing! Performance is a big part of what we do at AISB. It is part of our effort to provide students with memorable experiences that build confidence and teamwork while also allowing students to both discover and pursue their talents. The students worked so hard, practiced so beautifully, and through their performances, completely blew us away. We are so incredibly proud of every single student. My congratulations and thanks also go to all the staff who invested so much time and effort into making these performances such a

success!

Farewells and Gratitude

At this time of year, we always say farewell to some of our students and staff.

To the staff who are leaving AISB: we are deeply grateful for your many contributions throughout your time at our school. Thank you again for all you have done to help our school learn and grow, each of you in your own unique way. We wish you and your families all the very best for the future and hope that you will keep in touch.

To our departing students: whether you are moving to new schools, new cities, or new countries, we wish you and your families every success. Thank you for being part of the AISB family—we will miss you all!

I would like to make a special mention of Mr. Michael Bryce, who will retire from full-time education at the end of this year after almost 50 years of service and leadership. Working alongside the AISB secondary staff over the past three years, Michael has established a strong foundation on which the Secondary School can continue to grow. Professional development, policy, programs, and staff and student wellbeing are all in a better place because of his leadership and hard work. Thank you, Michael, for your contributions to AISB and for the guidance you have given to students and staff alike. We wish you and your wife, Vicky, every happiness for a long, healthy, and restful retirement.

Finally, I want to extend my deepest thanks to each and every one of you for your support this year:

  • To our students: For trying your best in class, keeping up with your work,

and supporting your classmates throughout the year.

  • To our teachers: Who have guided and worked diligently with their

students so that everyone could achieve their personal best.

  • To the leadership team: Your tireless, behind-the-scenes work in support

of our students, teachers, and staff cannot be understated.

  • To our parents: Who have provided the loving environments and support

from home that allowed your children to fully engage with the programs

we provide.

For now, I wish you all a very relaxing holiday—whether you manage to escape Bangkok for a few weeks or plan to stay at home and enjoy some quiet time!

For those who are traveling back to your home countries, I hope you have a wonderful, special time reconnecting with family and friends.

Take care and stay safe, everyone. Enjoy your break!

Sincerely,

Henri Bemelmans
