AISB students represented the school with maturity and professionalism at the Model United

Nations (MUN) conference hosted by King Mongkut's International Demonstration School (KMIDS) .

Throughout the day, students worked well as a team, motivating and supporting one another, particularly as many battled nerves in their first conference setting. More experienced MUN students offered advice and guidance to newer members, creating a supportive and encouraging environment.

Outstanding Student Achievements

The highlight of the conference was the exceptional recognition received by several AISB students for their academic performance and leadership.

  • Plookboon (Year 9) received an award for his position paper, an impressive achievement at his first MUN conference.

  • Abigail (Year 9) achieved an outstanding result, winning Best Position Paper in her committee and Best Overall Position Paper across the entire conference, also in her first MUN experience.

  • Chloe (Year 10) delivered an exceptional performance, winning Best Position Paper and Best Delegate in her committee, as well as receiving an Overall Honourable Mention, awarded to a select group of top delegates across the conference.

Before the conference, students researched their assigned country, topic, and committee,

submitting a position paper one week in advance. On the day, students delivered opening

speeches, took part in moderated and unmoderated caucuses, debated from the perspective of

their assigned countries, and worked collaboratively to agree on a final resolution for each

committee.

The conference also included specialist roles such as the Press Corps, where students acted as

journalists by interviewing delegates, writing articles, and taking part in live interviews during

event broadcasts. A tribunal session was also held, with students simulating a trial between two

countries and presenting arguments before student judges.

AISB Delegation

AISB was proudly represented by Karina (Kelly), Surkhab, Plookboon, Maithreyi, Da Yeon (Sophia), Abigail, Grace, Aris, Chloe, Prisha, Samridh, Mai, Daniel, Shazmina, Alisa, and Sora.

Despite many students attending their first MUN conference, all delegates competed alongside experienced students from other schools and contributed confidently throughout the day.

The MUN team can be very proud of their efforts, and AISB is proud of the way its students

represented the school at KMIDS.
