AISB REMOTE LEARNING 2021:
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS REMOTE LEARNING?

Remote learning is where the student and the educator are not physically present in a traditional classroom environment. Information is relayed through technology, such as, video conferencing, small group online lessons and online activities.

WILL SCHOOL BUILDINGS BE OPEN DURING REMOTE LEARNING?

Both campuses are open for school visits only for new families interested to enrol.

HOW WILL LESSONS BE PROVIDED AND SHARED WITH STUDENTS?

Teachers will communicate and share lessons through the following channels based on year groups:

Nursery to Year 3: Seesaw and Zoom 

Year 4 – Year 11: Google Classroom and Google Meets 

HOW OFTEN WILL TEACHERS CONTACT STUDENTS OR PARENTS REGARDING LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES?

Teachers will communicate with the students every day following the class schedule. There will be assigned activities for the students in addition to ‘live lessons’.

HOW WILL ATTENDANCE BE TAKEN?

Attendance will be taken during each live session.

HOW DO I CONTACT MY TEACHER FOR INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT?

All teachers will share their school email addresses with students and their parents.  


Additionally, all teachers of students are available through integrated messaging features within the Seesaw/Google classroom applications.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I NEED ASSISTANCE WITH THE ZOOM LINK, MEETING ID, AND PASSCODE?

Please contact your student’s teacher in the first instance.  You can also email helpdesk@australianisb.ac.th with your student’s name, year level and campus and our team of support personnel will respond. 

WILL STUDENT WORK BE GRADED?

During remote learning, AISB teachers will continue to monitor student work while they support the instruction being delivered off-site.

CAN I PICK UP LEARNING PACKS FROM THE SCHOOL INSTEAD OF PARTICIPATING IN THE SCHOOL’S REMOTE LEARNING PROGRAM?

AISB will not be providing learning packs as an alternative to the Remote Learning program provided.
Materials and books to support the provided program will be available for pick up at designated times. These times will be communicated to parents.

WHERE WILL MY CHILD FIND THEIR SCHEDULE OF WORK FOR THE WEEK?

Teachers will send the timetable for the week through Seesaw or Google Classroom depending on the year level. Daily schedules with meeting links will be sent through the evening before.

DO STUDENTS HAVE TO FOLLOW NORMAL SCHOOL TIMES TO COMPLETE THEIR ASSIGNMENTS?

No, students do not have to follow their normal schedule. They will be expected to engage in all live sessions but can complete tasks at any time.

WHAT IF MY CHILD IS SICK?

If your child is sick, you should notify the school by email, the Seesaw/Google classroom app, or SMS at 0992181546 (not by telephone calls).

WHAT IF I NEED HELP WITH THE ASSIGNMENT/ACTIVITY PROVIDED TO MY STUDENT?

Please contact the student’s teachers with questions regarding the assignment or activity. Classes will also have their Teaching Assistant available to assist students online should they need extra help.

WHAT ARE THE COMPUTER AND TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS TO LEARN REMOTELY?

You will need access to wifi or data, and a computer desktop, tablet, laptop, or mobile phone to learn remotely.  Zoom meetings can be accessed from a mobile phone.

HOW CAN MY CHILD SEEK IT SUPPORT?

WHO WILL I CONTACT IF I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH SEESAW AND GOOGLE CLASSROOM?

Please email helpdesk@australianisb.ac.th with your student’s name, year level and campus and our team of support personnel will respond.

WHAT IF I HAVE A POOR INTERNET CONNECTION?

AISB is unable to assist with internet connectivity issues at home – parents are advised to contact their Internet Service Provider.
