Greg Cairnduff - School Director

On behalf of the community of the Australian International School of Bangkok, I welcome you to our school website. I trust the information provided on the site conveys our commitment to high quality, student centred education.

Our school community of staff, students and families come from many different parts of the world. In any one year the student population will have students from more than 25 nationalities. The school started on the Sukhumvit Soi 20 site in School Year 2002 – 2003. The campus is nestled among the high – rise residential condominiums of the Asoke area of Bangkok. This is the Early Childhood Education section of the school, with classes extending from Nursery to Primary Year 1. The second campus, located 10 minutes’ drive away, in a leafy residential area of Sukhumvit Soi 31, began in School Year 2014-2015.

In the current School Year [19-20], the Soi 31 campus provides education for students aged 6 to 14 years of age, in Primary and Middle School classes from Year 1 to Year 9. A new class is added each year; the senior high school years – 10, 11 and 12, will be added in a well-planned and orderly way so that by School Year 22-23, we will be providing on the combined campuses, an educational pathway for students extending from Nursery 1 to Year 12 or Year 13.

The happy, purposeful, learning atmosphere of the school is generated by the work of dedicated, professionally qualified teachers, supported by a team of Teacher Assistants, nannies, administration and ancillary staff, all united in the cause of helping our students to achieve their personal best in all areas of learning.

The sense of educational purpose found in the school and evidence of AISB being a “school on the move”, is generated by our teachers and families working together in a common cause. That is, providing the best possible education for our students so they have strong academic foundations and well prepared for the various stages of their education. The educational foundations are developed through small well – resourced classes; highly trained and fully licensed teachers; a rich and deep curriculum that provides for their education, starting from Early Childhood though to high school and preparation to enter university, equipped with the skills and capabilities that will take them on to the stages that follow school and into their chosen career. Our graduates will have enquiring minds, they will be well prepared to be globally aware citizens and they will be confident and caring in their interactions with others.

You are most welcome to visit the school at any time or if you are overseas, we welcome any questions you have about the school.

With best wishes,

Greg Cairnduff - School Director
